Facade

Words so simple
pedestrian they appeared,
Unlike the wounds
they inflicted everyday.

Gathering them to build
edifice so magnificient,
I commemorated with glee
the god of memories.

One day, the earth moved;
the surging core sought freedom.
Dust to dust, ashes to ashes
and then I breathed, fresh air.
